Someone I know hit a moose recently. Just remember the risk when off speeding in northern nowhere for sure. Deer and Moose ain't care.

I was always told avoid hitting a moose at all cost swerve in the ditch/on coming traffic if you have too. you probably have a better chance of survival hitting an on coming car that hitting the 1000lbs piece of meat. Especially if you are in a car because when you hit it it breaks it's legs and the moose lands of the roof/windshield crushing you in the process.
